This month’s theme is “Aki-matsuri” (The Harvest season).
In Japan, we believe that there is God everywhere every day. It is the Japanese call to “Yao-yorozu no Kamigami” (gods of eight million). That spirit also influences the “Aki-matsuri”. “Aki-matsuri” is also a festival to thank various gods.
For example, the weather’s god, the plants’ god, and the god who protects the land, and so on.
The atmosphere of “Aki-matsuri” is much different than “Natsu-matsuri” (Summer Festival).
Since the “Aki-matsuri” is a harvest festival, it is rarely done in the city, but often in the countryside, where there are many farmlands.
During the “Aki-matsuri”, both adults and children carry “Mikoshi” (Portable shrine). That day everyone will delight the autumn harvest.
When the fun autumn festival is over, the beautiful autumn leaves season comes. Then Japan prepares for the winter.
In this month’s Box, we prepare many Japanese items that will make you enjoy the harvest season!
We promise that beautiful dishes and cute ornaments will make your early autumn happy!
