Today’s Japanese word “Undou-kai” (Sports festival).
“Undou-kai” is a physical education event to be held in a school and an area.
Junior high school or high school is referred to as a “Taiiku-sai” or “Taiiku-taikai” (each word means “sports festival”).
Well, what is “Undou-kai”?
In the “Undou-kai”, participants are divided into different colors teams. For example, red group, blue group or green group, etc..
And they compete by various games. There are the score in each competitions, and we determine victory or defeat in the total score.
The nursery school and the elementary school have the program without the points.
It is “kumi-taisou” (group gymnastics), a dance and so on. A class or a school year unit, and this cooperates and performs it. In some programs, the teachers or parents participate.
Other programs are “Ouen-Gassen” (battle of cheering) or “nyujyo-koushin” (an entrance procession)…
We are able to know the growth of the children in “Undou-kai”.
