God Baffaro "Kamiushi"

“Kitano-tenmangu” Shrine is the most famous shrines in Kyoto. This is the head of the “Tenmangu shrine” in Japan.
The symbol of “Sugawara Michizane”, he was most famous person of study and learning in Japan, and he was charactered of this shirine. When you visit there, you can see and meet many people with praying success of the examination of school or university.

In the garden, you can see a number of statues and sculptures of God Baffaro “Kamiushi” , as precinct of God Michizane, which is enshrined many images of the cattle.
Then God Michizane was born in the year “Ushi” that eastern calender on Buffaro.

Specialty of “Kitano-tenmangu” Shrine, flea market is held on every 25th of each month. This day is the memorial of God Michizane dead.
You are able to have a great experience in market. Secondhand articles, clothes, souvenirs and local food are sold on some stools.

Especially, Kyoto traditional famous sweets “mochi” is only sold on this day in east entrance. Mochi is one kind of rice cake. This sweets mochi is named “Chogoro-mochi”. Moderate sweetness of the bean paste is wrapped.
You may be surprising of taste that melts!!
