National treasure "Inuyama castle" with cherry blossom

After you pass a lot of Torii in Sanko-inari shrine, you can see Inuyama castle.

Inuyama castle was built by Oda Nobuyasu in 1537. He was Oda Nobunaga’s uncle.

This castle is the oldest castle still existing in Japan. It has become a national treasure.

The castle is small, simple and doesn’t have a lot of exhibits. Therefore, we can imagine how life style at the time was easily. The stairs are steep because it hasn’t changed at all.

When you go up to the observation tower, you will have a beautiful view of the Kiso River. It’s possible to feel a fresh wind because there aren’t tall buildings around that.

There are several places of interest near the castle. For example, Naritasan temple, Meiji Park, The Little World Museum of Man, and The Monkey Park.
Depending on the season, you can observe cormorant fishing on the Kiso River. How about taking a walk to the old town during the cherry blossoms season? It’s spectacular, too!!
