[ Houkoku-ji @ Kamakura ]

You can enjoy Japanese traditional tea with viewing the bamboo forest.

I’ll introduce “Houkoku-ji” in Kamakura, Kanagawa Pref. Houkoku-ji has not only a deep history but also great bamboos. There is bamboo forest and it’s very famous place.

When you step into the bamboo forest, you will be overwhelmed the height of the bamboo. There aren’t so many places which people can feel free from the reality. You can feel quietness.

And there is a small cafe, which is called “Kyuko-an”. You can enjoy Japanese traditional tea with small Japanese cakes.

When I went there, there were many couples, families and tourists. This cafe faces the bamboo forest, so you can enjoy the view of bamboo trees with drinking the tea. You can take a rest there, and go on to the main building.

The main building is designated as an important cultural property in Kamakura. And in the backside of the main building, you will find Japanese cultural dry style garden. It is “Kare-san-sui”.

In Houkoku-ji, you can feel the Japanese atmosphere.
