Large bell, "BONSHO"

This time, I introduce Large bell, “BONSHO” at “Chion-in Temple”.
The famous Large Bell “BONSHO” is the second biggest in Japan! It’s height is 3.3meters (about 11FT). By the 17 monks with a rope, the bell rings together on shouting at every New Year’s Eve. in Japan. We have a Buddhist event taking 108 times some on temples all around Japan, “JOYA-no-KANE”.
This Chion-in Bell ringing is famous via live broadcasting by NHK.
This temple is tomb for generations Tokugawa “Shoguns”, is been used lavish decoration and technology garden and buildings.
Prime monk (“OSHO”) Honen is proud of this temple and respected. He found one of Buddhism sect “JODO-shu”. So this “Chion-in temple” is too large and gorgeous!!
