“Kintaro ame” is one of the “Amezaiku” (sculptured candy).
Particularly, we call the stick candy “Kintaro ame” , which a face of “Kintaro” appears in the cut end even if we cut wherever.

How to make “Kintaro ame”:
1) You make the parts of “Kintaro”‘s face with the board-formed colored candy. Such as the eyebrows, eyes, a nose, the mouth. (“Kintaro” is chief character of the Japanese old tale.)
2) Locate the colored candies in each part to form the face.
3) Cut it after you lengthen it into long pieces and suitable thickness. And finish!

Processes of 1) and 2) are carried out while the candy is tender hot.
Basically, face of “Kintaro” is used to make “Kintaro ame”. But other characters or the letters are used too.
