"Norikura dake" @ Hida Mountain Range (Nagano Prefecture and Gifu Prefecture)

“Norikura dake” is a generic name of the mountains extending over Matsumoto city (Nagano Pref.) and Takayama city (Gifu Pref.).
It is the southern part of the “Hida Mountain Range”.
“Hida Mountain Range” is commonly referred to as “Japan Northern Alps”.

The main peak is “Ken-ga-mine” (altitude 3, 026 meter).
“Norikura dake” is a vast mountain. There is 23 peaks in total.
“Norikura dake” is the 19th height in mountain of Japan.

In summer, there is a lot of pretty alpine plants.

Well, there is a famous hot spring in the bottom of it in the Nagano side.
It is a “Shirahone hot spring”.
Here, the milky color’s hot water is famous.

“Norikura-dake” has private car regulation for environmental protection.
So you go to “Norikura Kogen station” (Nagano side), “Hirayu-Onsen” or ” Hounoki daira” (Gifu side) by your car.
From there, go by a shuttle bus or a taxi.

Nagano side :
Go to Chuo Expressway “Matsumoto IC” from Tokyo, and you drive along national road No. 158 to “Norikura Kogen”.
It takes 50 minutes from Matsumoto IC approximately.
Gifu side :
Go to Tokai Hokuriku Expressway, “Takayama IC”, and you drive along national road No. 158 to “Hirayu-Onsen”, or “Hounokidaira”.
It takes 30 minutes from “Takayama IC” approximately.

In summer, there is a lot of pretty alpine plants.  The view from the mountain It is a "Shirahone hot spring".
