[Kawadu-Sakura @ Kawadu / Shizuoka]

"Kawadu-Sakura" blossom

“Kawadu-Sakura” is the pink cherry (“Sakura”) tree which is in full bloom in late February or early March every year.

In Japan, the ordinary pink cherry (“Sakura”) blooms from late March to middle April.
But “Kawadu-Sakura” bloom more earlier!
And the pink color of “Kawadu-Sakura” blossom is more deep than the pink color of “Sakura” blossom. So it’s very elegant.

There are two famous spots of “Kawadu-Sakura”.
Today, I introduce one spot, Izu “Kawadu-Sakura”.

■Izu “Kawadu-Sakura” @ Kawadu Town, Shizuoka Pref.
Izu “Kawadu-Sakura” is original spot. The name of “Kawadu-Sakura” comes from Kawadu Town. In 1955, a man who lived in Kawadu found “Kawadu-Sakura”.
This area is the mild climate, so “Kawadu-Sakura” will be full bloom after a about a month started to bloom from early February every year.
