Today’s Japanese food is “Sakura no shio zuke” (salted Cherry Blossoms).

“Sakura no shio zuke” is a cherry blossom dipped in vinegar and salt.
It can be saved for about one year at room temperature.
Double flowering cherry blossoms like frills are commonly used in “Sakura no shio zuke”.

A salted cherry blossoms is put in hot water. It is called “Sakura cha” (cherry blossoms tea). “Sakura cha” is used well at wedding ceremonies.
In addition, it is cooked with rice. It is called “Sakura Gohan” (cherry blossoms rice).
