“Dogo onsen” is the oldest hot spring in Japan. It is the hot spring which appears in Japanese history book “Nihon-Shoki” made in 720.
It is also counted in one of three “Furuyu” (older hot spring) in Japan.
It is a representative sightseeing spot of Ehime that was drawn on the masterpiece of a Japanese famous writer, “Soseki Natsume”.
“Dogo Onsen Honkan” has been designated a national important cultural property, and it’s a symbol of “Dogo Onsen”.
“Dogo Onsen” town spreads out around here.
There is a public bath “Tsubaki-no-yu” other than the main hotel hot spring.
As for “Tsubaki-no-yu” main users are almost local visitor. And the users in the bath of “Honkan” are tourists.
There are “karakuri dokei” (mechanism clock), a hand bath, footbath and the sightseeing “jinrikisha” (rickshaw) in the hot-spring resort, too.
It is recommended taking a walk through malls from nearest “Dogo Onsen” station to “Dogo Onsen Honkan”.

1) Ride on “Shinkansen Nozomi” to “Okayama” station (about 3hour 20 minutes ride)
2) Ride on “Tokkyu (superexpress) Shiokaze” to “Matsuyama” station (about 2hour 40 minutes ride)
3) Ride on “Romen densha”(tramcar) to “Dogo Onsen” station (about 25minutes/ 150yen)
★From Tokyo (By Airplane)
1) Get on the airplane from “Haneda” airport to “Matsuyama” airport (about 1hour 15 minutes ride)
2) Get on “Limousine Bus” to “Dogo”.
